Project Manager/Assistant to Program Coordinators

 

We are looking for a new team member with personal interest in sustainable development, environmental policies, transformative economics and politics of socioeconomic transformations, collaborative skills and strong team spirit and a hand for administrative and financial handling of projects and event preparation.

Under the guidance of the Program Coordinators, the successful candidate will manage hbs´s projects in the program component focusing on Sustainable development and Environmental policies. The successful candidate will be based in Tunis with regular travel and work in cooperation with civil society organizations, political parties/interest groups and others in Tunisia and the region.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the logistical planning, contracting, implementation of self-organized program activities or cooperation projects as well as, project planning and the preparation of substantive program reports and activity documentations.

  • Responsibility for the financial reports (cooperation projects) and accounting (of self-organized) program activities.

  • Attending and monitoring program partners’ activities, applying monitoring tools and managing related documentation. Drafting briefing notes, memos and minutes of meetings and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as press clippings and social media surveys.

  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and public events & meetings including pre-event preparation, liaising with participants/guests, finding venues and logistical arrangements with respect of the allocated budget.

  • Maintaining contact - in consultation with the program coordinators - with national and international organizations relevant to the program.

  • Communicate on program activities through the Foundations’ communication channels, social media and website.

  • Assisting the program coordinators with the preparation, control and adjustment of the program budget in compliance with the internal regulations of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.

  • Living and applying principles of gender democracy and diversity.

 

Profile

  • University diploma in social or political or environmental sciences, e.g. (international) environmental law, environmental economics & sustainable development.

  • Demonstrated work experience for at least 2 years in projects management with an international organization/national NGO or in the private sector.

  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, familiarity with social media

  • Fluency in Arabic, French and English. Knowledge of German is an asset.

  • Communicative, a sense for political narratives and debates.

  • A proven ability to prioritize, plan, organize work and meet deadlines in a busy environment.

  • Problem solving skills, showing initiative, ability to multi-task, team orientation and ability to work independently.

 

The employment contract follows local labor laws in Tunisia.
